In addition to the original Scope of Works, an area of the roof that had been burnt out and truncated as a result of a German incendiary bomb was rebuilt, including all carpentry work and was restored to its" pre-war glory.
All works were carried out to the highest standards of quality, over fully operational children's wards.
The project was carried over a period of 3 years, where of necessity, much of the work was progressing through the winters.
There was no disruption to the hospitals activities. The Children's Hospital Estates Project Manager, Mr. Derek Harrison said on completion of the works: "A.C. Smith (Applications) carried out a competent job to the highest standards, with the minimum of fuss." | |
